Therapeutic Exercises

A chiropractic adjustment restores motion to a joint that's stuck or misaligned but it doesn't fix the weak or imbalanced muscles that let it get that way in the first place. Left alone, those same muscles tend to pull the joint right back toward the same dysfunctional pattern. Therapeutic exercise is how we address that other half of the problem: targeted, one-on-one movement work that builds the strength and stability to support what your adjustment just corrected.

What Is Therapeutic Exercise?

Therapeutic exercise is individualized, hands-on-guided movement, not a generic workout designed around the specific weaknesses, imbalances, and movement patterns your evaluation uncovers. Depending on what you need, a session might include light weight or resistance band training, gym ball work, core stabilization, targeted stretching, or balance and coordination drills. Every exercise is chosen for a reason tied to your exam, not pulled from a standard routine.

How It Fits Into Your Chiropractic Care

Chronic pain often isn't just a joint problem, it's a movement problem. Weak deep core muscles let the lumbar spine take on strain it shouldn't; weak neck stabilizers leave cervical joints doing more work than they're built for; tight hips and poor posture pull the pelvis and lower back out of balance. An adjustment can correct the resulting misalignment in the moment, but if the underlying weakness is still there, the same pattern tends to return. Building strength and stability around a joint in the same areas your chiropractor is adjusting, This is what turns a short-term correction into a lasting one, and it's why therapeutic exercise is built into your treatment plan rather than treated as a separate service.
